Skip The Butter
A contemporary health craze advises using butter instead of margarine. This is not a good option for your kidneys. Butter includes saturated fats, which can harm your kidneys if consumed in large quantities. These fats, according to the National Kidney Foundation, elevated LDL cholesterol (the “bad” variety), which harms your kidneys.

You can eat butter in tiny amounts, but not every day. If you prefer margarine, seek one that contains no trans fats or “hydrogenated” fats. Trans fats raise LDL cholesterol more than saturated fats.
