Let’s be real. For many of us, food is about more than just getting enough nutrients to survive; it is about the pleasure of eating good food and enjoying it. That is why we want to discuss snacking. Snacking on its own is fine! It all comes down to what you eat, how much you exercise, and how much you eat. Small meals and snacks throughout the day are actually a very healthy diet for most people. Instead of reaching for a handful of potato chips high in unhealthy fats and sodium, or sugary pastries, try some healthier alternatives. Pita chips with fresh salsa or hummus, fresh cherries, avocados, sea-salted almonds, and bananas (I dare you to dip them in dark chocolate!) are excellent snacks for munching on throughout the day.
