10 Great Reasons To Walk Every day

Regular walking is super heart healthy

A moderate 30-minute walk each day will help to maintain your heart healthy while also burning calories (and fat). This is because aerobic activity increases circulation by helping the heart pump more quicker, resulting in lower blood pressure. High blood pressure is harmful to the heart and is one of the early warning signs of heart disease.

In fact, scientific evidence suggests that taking a brisk 30-minute walk at least five times each week can reduce a person’s chance of getting coronary heart disease by approximately 19%. Another advantage is that the more frequently you walk and the faster you walk, the lower your chance of getting coronary heart disease (to a certain point, taking into account other health and lifestyle factors such as diet, drinking alcohol, smoking and stress).

So, if walking could be prescribed, we should all be given it. (However, since it isn’t, we should all put on our walking shoes and go anyhow!)
