We focus on a negative detail that ends up taking up all the space.
Example:
- I received a small remark about my work and I just think about it. I usually get compliments.
Then it goes round and round in our heads and we ask ourselves a thousand and one questions while blaming ourselves a lot.
What if, in order not to stress, we kept the essentials in mind?
- I have only received one small remark in two years of compliments. I’m not perfect, nobody is. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes. I breathe.
