1-Stop being categorical: « it’s all or nothing »
We tend to categorise things in their extremes: it’s all white or all black. In other words, it’s all good or all bad.
This tendency leads us to devalue ourselves and take any situation as a total and definitive failure.
Example:
- I failed my presentation: I knew it, I’m just a big loser.
So, to avoid stress, what if we learn to see all the nuances? Indeed, some things are black, others are white, but there is also grey. A bit of both. This gives:
- My presentation was not as good as I wanted it to be. There are good and bad things.
