Myth No. 4: Pressing the snooze button increases sleep duration

Your body is naturally drawing to a close to the final cycle of fast eye movement, or “dreaming,” as morning approaches. If you press the snooze button, researchers claim that your brain immediately enters a new cycle of dreams. You’re probably in the middle of that cycle when the alarm goes off a few minutes later, and you’ll likely wake up feeling sleepy. And you’ll continue to feel sleepy.

A helpful hint is to position the alarm so that you must get out of bed to silence it. (And no, you cannot tell Alexa or Google to disable it. That is dishonest.)
