5-Tigers Nest Monastery, Bhutan

Tigers Nest Monastery, located in the steep cliffs of the Paro valleys, is one of Bhutan’s most sacred sites. Guru Padmasambhava, the second Buddha, meditated for a long time in this location. This Sage Guru was the one who brought Buddhism to Tibet.
This cultural treasure of Tibet was built in 1692 at a height of 3000 meters above sea level. Tourists must journey for hours to reach this location. Tsechu, a festival honoring the second Buddha, is also held in Paro valley.
