4- Transitioning from living paycheck to paycheck to creating a healthy emergency fund
A Reddit member discussed his achievement in breaking free from the trap of living paycheck to paycheck and instead saving enough to weather any crisis. He moved from eating out three times a week to two Saturdays a month for gourmet dining, among other things. Instead of buying a latte (or two!) from his favorite coffee shop every morning, he made his own, saving him about $300 per month. Because of his rigorous spending habits, he had saved enough money to pay all of his costs for six months in the event that he was laid off or experienced an unanticipated financial tragedy.
