Borobudur is one of the world’s most significant Buddhist structures in central Java, Indonesia. To represent Lord Buddha’s birth, the temple has a lotus flower-like building surrounded by an ancient lake. It was created in the eighth century using 2 million volcanic stones.
This temple was abandoned for thousands of years due to the Merapi volcano explosion and was found in 1814. Hundreds of Buddha statues have also been uncovered here. There are also 100 gutters in the shape of elephant-headed fish called as’maraka, which is one of Borobudur’s most beautiful attractions.
