The Temple of Heaven in China was erected to glorify the Sky and is located in Beijing. This vast complex of ancient temples, occupying an area of 2.7 million square meters, is one of the largest in China. The temple has a circular wall to represent heaven and a rectangle wall to represent Earth.
This temple architecture demonstrates that heaven is considerably higher than Earth. The Ming Dynasty built this temple complex between 1406 and 1420. It is also on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
