Pripyat, the Ukrainian ghost city
advertisement
Pripyat is a typical relic of God-playing. If you don’t know the name of the city, I believe it’s enough to say that the previous settlement was around 16 kilometers from Chornobyl. Following the explosion of Block 4 in 1986, the entire city was evacuated, and it has been completely unoccupied ever since for understandable reasons. The ghost town kept the backward image of Sovjet communities – only nature was constantly in opposition to the concrete, asphalt, and brick. This town is depressing, and raise your hands if you would feel secure moving there, even if fifty documents state that there is no longer any radioactive radiation here.
