Rhubarb leaves

Oxalic acid, which is hazardous to humans, is abundant in rhubarb leaves. Even little amounts of rhubarb leaves can cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, and in extreme situations, it can result in kidney failure and death. When cooked, the stalks of the rhubarb plant are acceptable to eat, but the leaves should not be consumed. If you have a rhubarb plant in your garden, keep children and dogs away from the leaves and properly dispose of them.
