Robert Palmer sang a catchy song about being hooked to love decades ago. Even after all these years, it turns out that the song is more scientifically accurate than anyone could have expected.

This is because love can become physically addictive. You can become hooked to the surge of good chemicals that flood your brain when you’re with your lover, in particular.

Overall, this is similar to someone being addicted to video games or even gambling. You won’t become biologically addicted (as with alcohol and nicotine), but you might find yourself pining for your next date.
