6. Physical activity and outdoor activities
It is well known that physical and sporting activities have real benefits for our mental health. Thanks to sport, we produce endorphins (the well-being and happiness hormone) and this gives us a boost. Regular physical activity is as good for the body as it is for the mind. If you are not too sporty, you have many alternatives and different activities. From the most physical to the most slow-paced, they all have their benefits.
If you are not too sporty, what I have to recommend is to walk in nature. Cycling is also beneficial. I can’t think of any better exercise than going for an hour’s walk in the woods or just in the street (although nature is better for our mind and well-being).
Walking is good because it allows us to clear our minds and let off steam a bit too. For me, at least that’s the effect it has on me. When I come home after a walk, I feel empty, well, and serene. Combined with the effects of nature, I feel in harmony with everything around me!
Even a 15 to 30-minute walk a day can really do you good and help you clear your mind. It is even more important to be physically active if you have a sedentary job!
